High Voltage (HV) tests are an important aspect of ensuring the safety and reliability of electrical equipment, especially in power systems. In Nepal, a 220KV Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) was recently installed and it is vital to conduct thorough HV tests on it to ensure its stability.
The first test that will be carried out is the 400KV AC hipot test. This test involves applying a high voltage to the GIS and checking if it can withstand the voltage without any insulation breakdown. This test is critical as it ensures the insulation system is capable of handling the rated voltage and does not have any defects.
Last year our customer ordered the 400KVA 400kv AC hipot test system, also called variable frequency series resonance test system. As soon as the GIS finished, we sent 2 engineers to Nepal to provide technology support. They arrived Nepal and went to site next day.
Glad to see that our engineers are touched by our customer's warm welcome. They will do their best to provide the training and service. Make sure the project finished smoothly and earlier.
Another important test is the 220KV transformer test. This test measures the transformer's performance under normal operating conditions, such as current, voltage, and temperature. Any faults or defects are identified to ensure that the transformer meets the necessary specifications and is safe to operate. To ensure the resonance condition of the transformer, a 400KVA/400KV AC resonance test equipment is used. This test measures the resonance frequency of the transformer and analyzes its behavior under varying input conditions. The equipment also identifies any harmonics and other disturbances that can affect the overall performance of the transformer.
Our engineers and other engineers on site will start the test tomorrow. Now they are making preparation for test. We will keep following the developments.
