What is the PD Free Resonant Test System?

The PD Free Resonant Test System (an AC resonant test system without local discharge) is a specialized equipment used for detecting the insulation performance of high-voltage equipment. Its function is to ensure that there is no partial discharge interference during the test process when applying AC high voltage, thereby accurately evaluating the insulation status of power equipment. This system is primarily applicable to factory tests, commissioning tests, and preventive maintenance tests of high-voltage electrical equipment, such as cables, transformers, and GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear).

The partial discharge is ≤5pC based on the standard.  To ensure that there is no local discharge interference during the testing process, through high-precision filtering and shielding design.

Composition of the system

Variable frequency power supply: Provides low-voltage alternating current with adjustable frequency ranging from 30 to 300 Hz, serving as the excitation source.

Excitation Transformer: Increases the output of the frequency conversion power supply to the excitation voltage required by the reactor.

High-voltage reactor: Forms a series resonant circuit with the tested capacitance, generating high voltage.

Capacitive voltage divider: Monitors the output voltage in real time and feeds it back to the control system to achieve closed-loop regulation.
