How to choose suitable PD tester for GIS Partial discharge test

Mar 05, 2025Leave a message

Regarding the technical requirements and equipment characteristics of GIS non-release testing, the selection should focus on the following core elements.

1. Determine test requirements, including GIS voltage level, test duration, and accuracy requirements (such as office volume threshold).
2. Matching core equipment: Select tester and resonant system according to capacity and sensitivity.
3. Verify compatibility: Ensure that device interfaces are compatible with the GIS structure and that the fault simulation function covers the test scenario.
4. Optimize environmental conditions: Configure shielding facilities and temperature and humidity control to reduce external interference.

Core test equipment selection;

Partial discharge detector:

High sensitivity: Supports the detection of local discharge power ≤10pC

Multi-parameter analysis: can record the amplitude, frequency, phase, and other parameters of the discharge signal.

Anti-interference capability: Equipped with noise suppression to ensure accurate measurement in low electromagnetic field environments.

Variable frequency series resonant test system:

Dry reactor: epoxy resin-cast dry reactor is preferred to ensure low discharge characteristics

Output power matching: Select the capacity according to the GIS voltage level. For example, a 35kV GIS needs to match the resonance parameter of 68kV/0.01μF.

Heat dissipation and stability: For prolonged testing (> 3 hours), choose a system with forced air cooling or a special heat dissipation design.
